Riverina Oils

Lotus is a lead investor in the development of a 175,000 tons per year oilseed crushing and refining facility in Eastern Australia. The plant will crush canola and specialty oilseeds to produce refined edible vegetable oil and meal, used as a protein supplement in animal feed. The plant will be operational in Q4 2011.

Riverina Oils will benefit from resilient and growing Asian demand for vegetable oil and domestic demand for meal, coupled with a lack of new supply in the foreseeable future. The plant will compete as the low cost and high quality provider in Australia. The business is run by a highly experienced management team from the food, oilseed and soft commodity industry.
